Stanislav Kochergin Earns Pass to Finals in "So You Think You Can Dance Canada" 2008
On June 8, 2008 Stas and Inessa, as his non-competing partner, tried out for the first Canadian version of "So You Think You Can Dance." The judges were so impressed by Stas' dancing and personality that they gave him a pass straight to the Toronto finals!

Despite the excitement and encouragement of many of his students, Stas decided he could not continue with the competition. The finalist competitors were required to stay in a hotel away from their friends and family for several months so that they would not divulge the results too early by accident. After much deliberation and after many phone calls from the show producers, Stas decided that his commitments to his students were of higher priority.
"I couldn't sleep for a week!" he declared. Nevertheless he feels he made the right decision and wishes the remaining competitors the best of luck.
Over 2500 of Canada's best dancers tried out for the show. Only 200 were chosen to participate in the Finals in Toronto.
